A healthcare organization is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant in Truro. This full-time position involves supporting laboratory operations, including sample preparation and data entry. No prior experience is required as full training will be provided. The ideal candidate should possess strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure. Competitive salary between £24,937 to £26,598 per annum, pro rata.
Applications are invited for the post of Medical Laboratory Assistant to work in the Blood Sciences department at the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro.
It's an exciting time with a new Blood Sciences laboratory open covering haematology, blood transfusion and clinical chemistry. The job purpose is to provide laboratory, clerical & data entry support and reception cover as part of a laboratory team.
No previous experience required as full training will be provided.
The receipt of samples from within the hospital and surrounding GP practices.
Sample preparation, request data entry and presentation for analysis as appropriate.
To support the specific and technical and clerical duties alongside Biomedical Scientists as part of a team to facilitate the smooth running of the service.
This is a full time post working 37.5 hours per week. A flexible attitude to working hours is essential. The hours are currently within a framework of 08.00-20.00 including weekend & Bank Holiday working. These arrangements are subject to continuing review.
