Mechanical Project Engineer - Building Services

Location: Bridgwater, Somerset (Hinkley Point C) – First 6-9 months based in Bristol

Type: Full-time | Permanent; Working Pattern: 9-day fortnight (avg. 37 hrs/week) | Hybrid available

Salary: Up to £70,000 + £5,500 Car Allowance. Travel & accommodation reimbursed where applicable.

Overview

Mechanical Project Engineer required to deliver mechanical building services packages on a large, highly regulated infrastructure project. Suitable for engineers from building services or nuclear backgrounds. Nuclear experience beneficial but not essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver mechanical building services projects (HVAC, pipework, heating & cooling)
  • Manage engineering and project delivery activities on site
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and manage project programmes and schedules
  • Coordinate labour, materials, and procurement activities
  • Review drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Monitor project cost, progress, and work-in-progress
Essential Requirements
  • ONC (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services
  • Experience as a Mechanical or Building Services Project Engineer
  • Experience delivering projects in regulated environments
  • Strong understanding of health & safety and compliance
  • Good stakeholder and contractor management skills
Desirable
  • Nuclear project experience
  • Knowledge of nuclear safety culture
  • Experience with Qualified Equipment (EQ)
  • Working towards HNC or higher qualification
  • Working towards APM PMQ or equivalent
