Overview

Our client is one of the UK's leading M&E Contractors. They provide building services across a wide range of sectors and are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to join their operational team on a major, new-build project in Northumberland. This is a largely site-based role on a major, new-build custodial project and should continue for around 2 years.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Overseeing the pre-construction designs
  • Support of all technical aspects of the mechanical installation
  • Interpretation and adaptation of designs
  • Ensure a good working relationship alongside the Electrical Project Engineer
  • Reporting to the Operations Manager on works
  • Ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe manner and is as laid out in contracts
  • Regular attendance of meetings with the client and project teams
  • Keep the ongoing project to cost and time allocation and understand the budget of the project at any given time
  • Procurement and management of the sub-contractors
  • Cost forecasting
  • Commissioning process
  • Client handover
The Individual

This role requires a confident, experienced Mechanical Project Engineer who can work in a sometimes-pressurised environment on a sizeable, multi-million pound project from 'cradle to grave'.

Skills and Qualifications
  • BTEC, HNC/D level qualification in Building Services Engineering or equivalent advantageous but not essential
  • Solid commercial knowledge
  • SMSTS or equivalent
  • Good M&E experience
