The Opportunity
As a result of securing several new, significant projects in the Chichester area, we are looking to hire an experienced and driven Mechanical Site Foreman to play a key role in the successful on-site delivery of these installations.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Day-to-day coordination, supervision, and safety of all mechanical works on site.
- Directly supervise and coordinate the mechanical installation teams and subcontractors on site.
- Ensure all mechanical works are executed meticulously in accordance with project drawings, specifications, and relevant UK Building Regulations and Standards.
- Act as a key liaison, maintaining effective communication with project managers, site engineers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth, efficient project delivery.
- Monitor site progress, track productivity, and maintain the highest standard of quality of workmanship.
- Conduct mandatory daily briefings and toolbox talks to enforce full health and safety compliance on site at all times.
- Efficiently manage and control the allocation of materials, tools, and equipment on-site, ensuring optimal availability.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of work completed, labour hours, and any site issues or observations.
- Assist the site team and engineers in promptly resolving any technical or site coordination issues that arise.
Candidate Profile
Essential Qualifications
- Must be a fully qualified Plumber or Mechanical Craftsperson with all relevant trade certifications.
- Holds required health and safety certifications (e.g., CSCS Carded, Manual Handling).
Experience and Skills
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in mechanical installation, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, pipework, plumbing, and associated mechanical systems.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills are essential.
- Experience working on commercial, industrial, or data centre projects is a distinct advantage.
Additional Requirements
- A full, clean driving licence is desirable.
