Mechanical Craftsperson

The closing date is 22 January 2026

To participate in the effective and efficient day to day operation and maintenance of all types of engineering plant and equipment associated with a modern day NHS Foundation Trust Hospital.

Maintenance Craftsperson will be employed on work appropriate to their core specialist skills and should possess levels of flexibility and competence to allow them to perform the following.

Performs work including activities, which are complex, and/or non-routine. Responsible for calibration and fault finding on a wide range of engineering plant and equipment (steam, raising plant and associated equipment, sterilizers, washer/disinfectors, piped medical gas systems, low pressure hot water systems and natural gas systems.

Main duties of the job

Undertaking maintenance, repairs, minor improvements and minor capital work across the Trust, ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures.

  • Experience on aspects of mechanical building services including boiler plant compressed air pumping installations
  • Heating Controls

  • Experience in fault diagnosis and have the ability to interpreted and analyse complex critical equipment and systems.

  • Heating and ventilation systems, carrying out annual verification of Critical AHU system in accordance with HTM03-01

  • Experience in identifying and rectification of legionella risk assessment surveys.
