A leading engineering consultancy in the UK is offering a placement year for students pursuing a career in the Mechanical/Aeronautical industry. This role includes working on diverse projects, receiving mentoring and training, and aiming for professional accreditations. Candidates must be on track to obtain a 2:1 degree or higher in Engineering or a relevant physical science. This is a placement year for students wanting to explore a career within the Mechanical/Aeronautical industry at Frazer‑Nash. As a student, you could be joining one of the following discipline areas:
These areas support our Defence, Energy, Transport & Industry client sectors and are geographically based across our range of UK offices.
You will be involved in delivery of a diverse range of projects to our clients, working from component level to system level throughout all aspects of the project lifecycle (from R&D to decommissioning) and in conjunction with other technical disciplines.
Those selected will receive training, mentoring and coaching to support their development into well‑rounded consultants and will be supported to achieve professional accreditations including chartership with one of our five partnered institutions (IMechE, RAeS, IET, RINA & IoP).
As a consultancy organisation, we are looking for highly motivated, innovative, organised and inquisitive people who would like to solve complex problems.
You will need to be on track to gain a 2:1 Degree or higher (or equivalent/experience) with a related Engineering or relevant physical sciences bias.

As a placement year student, you will be part of this and will typically be working on multiple projects simultaneously, managing your time and accruing a wealth of experience and skills. Hence, no two days in Frazer‑Nash will be the same.
Due to the nature of the work that Frazer‑Nash Consultancy undertakes, candidates will be required to undergo pre‑employment screening and will be required to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
