Overview
Manufacturing Quality Team Leader
Bridgwater | Up to £40k plus bonus | Monday-Thursday, 8am-4.30pm, Friday 8am-1pm | Permanent
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Quality Operatives, Technicians, and Engineers.
- Drive a culture of quality and continuous improvement across the organisation.
- Monitor and report on key quality metrics and team performance.
- Ensure compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production, engineering, and supply chain teams.
- Facilitate audits (internal, customer, and regulatory) and manage follow-up actions.
- Develop and maintain quality documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, and inspection plans.
- Lead and manage projects as required.
Requirements
- Experience managing and leading a team.
- Experience working in a Quality role within a manufacturing environment.
- Higher National Diploma or equivalent.
- Relevant auditing experience.
- Leadership & Team Management skills, including coaching, mentoring, conflict resolution, and performance management.
- Performance & Results Orientation, with a data-driven mindset focused on KPIs and continuous improvement.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong technical and analytical skills, including knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, FMEA, SPC).
- Proficiency in quality management systems (QMS) and relevant software.
- Experience with ISO standards or industry-specific regulations (e.g., AS 9100, ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
- Proficient in conducting internal and supplier audits globally for training, supplier audits, customer visits, and site inspections.
