Job Title:

Manufacturing Engineer – Tooling

Location:

Barrow-In-Furness (On-site)

Salary:

£37,000+ Depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:
  • Responsible for all aspects of tooling from procurement to final delivery, liaising with all stakeholders including maintenance, calibration in-house and external manufacturers to ensure tooling is compliant and capable as defined by specifications provided
  • Provide specialist advice on tooling options and support the operations teams with tooling issues and problem solving where required
  • Support tooling, calibration and capability reviews as needed
  • Responsible for ensuring that their Manufacturing Engineering output meets all relevant Safety and Quality requirements.
  • Be responsible for communicating and working with a variety of stakeholders to deliver packages of work which achieve a ‘business best practice’ solution.
  • Provide functional support to local and business wide improvement initiatives. (e.g. Visual management, Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People, Learning from experience etc.)
  • Research new manufacturing methods and recommendations of tooling solution via improvement projects
Your skills and experiences:
  • Able to work as part of a multi-disciplined team
  • HNC or have completed a Craft/Technician Apprenticeship with experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role
  • Knowledge of Toolmaking and General engineering practices.
  • Knowledge and experience within a tooling role in a Manufacturing Engineering environment
  • Knowledge of relevant Engineering & Manufacturing Engineering standards and SHE regulations etc…

The Manufacturing Engineering Team

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will have significant involvement in key Manufacturing Engineering projects. You will use your knowledge and experience to guarantee delivery of Manufacturing Engineering outputs into Operations that ensure design intent can be met. The role holder will advise, coach and lead other team members as part of their daily responsibilities. We offer relocation support across all Submarine roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
