Management Accountant | 1 Year Fixed Term Contract | Belfast

Salary: up to £35,000 per annum

Are you a commercially minded finance professional looking to make a real impact? Reed Finance are delighted to be working with a well-established and reputable business in Belfast in the recruitment of a Management Accountant to join them on a 1-year fixed term basis.

The successful Management Accountant will play a key role in preparing, developing, and analysing financial data across multiple business entities within the group. Working closely with the wider finance team, they will support the smooth running of day-to-day financial operations and contribute to the delivery of accurate and insightful reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a trusted advisor to various departments, supporting financial decision-making across the business.
  • Oversee and manage financial processes, including account reconciliations and balance sheet reviews.
  • Contribute to financial planning by analysing performance and supporting medium to long-term forecasting.
  • Prepare and review financial reports such as profit and loss statements, budgets, cash flow forecasts, and variance analyses.
  • Support the delivery of finance-related projects and initiatives.
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Translate complex financial data into clear insights for non-financial stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with operational managers to align financial reporting with business context.
  • Evaluate financial systems and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Maintain and update digital accounting systems.
  • Perform reconciliations across purchase ledger, sales ledger, bank, stock, and other key areas.
  • Manage statutory reporting requirements including VAT, HMRC submissions, and Intrastat returns.
  • Uphold internal controls, risk management protocols, and corporate governance standards.
  • Promote and adhere to the organisation's health and safety culture.
What you\'ll need to succeed
  • Qualified / part-qualified / qualified-by-experience (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA).
  • 2 years\' experience in a similar role, producing management accounts
  • In-depth understanding of analytics.
  • Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • High level of competency in MS Office
