Job Description:

The role

To assist in the efficient operation of the M Tunnels by undertaking maintenance and other tasks as required by the Shift Manager.

This is a 4 days on – 4 days off shift, 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off

  • Be familiar with Plant Monitoring and Control Systems, including SCADA, PLCs, I/O, networking, etc.
  • Be familiar with electronic / technology equipment such as CCTV, incident detection, radio rebroadcast, telephone networks, fire alarm systems, air monitoring, etc., within the Dartford River Crossing and other M Tunnels, under normal and emergency conditions.
  • Perform repair and maintenance of traffic safety systems on the approach to the Dartford tunnels, including sensors, barriers, and traffic signals.
  • Complete records such as daily worksheets and maintenance reports.
  • Read drawings, carry out fault finding, and perform repairs independently.
  • Perform manual, semi-skilled, or skilled work of any trade as instructed by the Shift Manager.
  • Drive vehicles for maintenance purposes as required.
  • Attend incidents and work safely according to policies to facilitate early hazard/incident clearance.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Recognized Electronic or Technology Qualifications or Apprenticeship.
  • IT literacy.
Certificates (or willingness to undertake training):
  • MEWPS
  • Confined Spaces
  • CSCS
Experience:
  • Experience in routine maintenance and repairs of electronics/technology equipment.
  • Practical maintenance or servicing experience with computer/logic control systems.
  • Fault finding using schematic drawings.
  • Knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation.
  • Ability to perform installation work according to current legislation and standards.
