Job summary

A well-established engineering company in Ayrshire is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure compliance with safety legislation and conduct electrical maintenance. The ideal candidate will have an HNC in electrical engineering and hands-on experience in fault diagnosis. This position offers long-term prospects and stability in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Served a recognised electrical apprenticeship.
  • Good working knowledge of maintenance practice and condition monitoring.
  • Experience in an electrical maintenance role.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM).
  • Report unsafe acts or conditions using the Near Miss System.
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and to required standards.

Skills

Overview

I am currently recruiting for a Maintenance Technician on behalf of my client based in Ayrshire. This is a great opportunity to join a well-established company offering a stable role with long-term prospects.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out all activities in full compliance with H&SE legislation, within company policy and procedure.
  • Responsible for reporting any unsafe acts or unsafe conditions observed (using the Near Miss System) in accordance with responsibilities under the Health and Safety at work Act.
  • Carry out electrical Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Corrective Maintenance (CM) and Reactive Maintenance (RM) to production equipment and electrical infrastructure.
  • Fault diagnosis and root cause analysis
  • Work in accordance with site procedures, engineering standards and relevant legislation
  • Utilisation of the site Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) system for all maintenance works
  • Ensure all work is carried out in a safe manner and is to the required standard of workmanship.
  • Work in accordance with the site permit to work system
Qualifications/Experience
  • Served a recognised electrical apprenticeship
  • Minimum HNC or equivalent in electrical engineering
  • Ability to diagnose faults on mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment
  • Good working knowledge of maintenance practice, MTBF, condition monitoring etc.
  • Experience in an electrical maintenance role
  • Ability to work to tight timescales
Desirable
  • Experience working in a high hazard industry
  • Industrial Health and safety training
