Overview

The Opportunity: If you're looking for a varied and interesting role, and have experience of scheduling or planning works within a mechanical or electrical engineering environment, then this could be just the job you seek. The Planner is responsible for scheduling all maintenance works within this busy facility. It would suit either a hands on Maintenance or Aircraft Engineer who prefers office admin and planning, OR somebody who's already been a Engineering Planner or Scheduler. Please note that this is a shift based role, working 7am to 7pm, on a 5/5/4 day rota (usually 2 weekends on, then 2 weekends off, but you will get 5 days off in a row in amongst the rota).

Role
  • Organise maintenance 'jobs' involving all aspects of planning from start to finish: making sure parts and equipment are available to the engineers, planning the jobs in from the customers, scheduling timescales, workforce planning.
  • Organise and prioritise the incoming requests for quotes and proposals. Liaise with customers and potential customers when required.
  • Manage the maintenance plan and slot allocation.
  • Liaise with the Finance Executive for Quoting and budgetary requirements with involvement in raising quotes and estimates for customers.
Requires of You
  • The role would suit somebody with experience of Aircraft Engineering and Maintenance who prefers admin and scheduling, or an experienced scheduler or planner within an engineering environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong interpersonal skills with a focus on collaboration.
  • Demonstrated experience of commercial awareness and the ability to engage with Customers on commercial issues.
  • An appreciation of Planning requirements and techniques.
  • Good all round knowledge of relevant IT systems and proficient in MS Office applications (specifically Excel & Word).
  • Display a basic working knowledge of technical and engineering matters.
Hours and Benefits
  • Hours: shift based role, working 7am to 7pm, on a 5/5/4 day rota (usually 2 weekends on, then 2 weekends off, but you will get 5 days off in a row in amongst the rota). 40 hour week.
