Qualifications

Job Title: Maintenance & Facilities Engineer

Location: Fradley, Staffordshire (after initial training in Wokingham)

Salary: £45,000 per annum

Job type: Permanent, Full Time - Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm

Kyocera SGS Precision Tools is a leading manufacturer of solid carbide cutting tools, renowned for designing high-performance solutions for machining challenging materials such as stainless steel and titanium. We support industries including aerospace, medical, power generation, and motorsports by solving complex manufacturing challenges and improving process efficiency.

We're entering an exciting phase of growth, relocating to the Midlands to bring Kyocera SGS and Kyocera Unimerco Tooling together under one roof-creating Kyocera's largest carbide tooling site in Europe.

As part of this expansion, we're now looking for an experienced Maintenance & Facilities Engineer to play a key role in supporting our manufacturing operations and facilities.

About the Role

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you'll take ownership of site maintenance and facilities, ensuring manufacturing equipment and building services operate safely, reliably, and efficiently. You'll play a key role in minimising downtime, improving preventative maintenance, and supporting the continued growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing plant and equipment to minimise downtime
  • Plan and deliver preventative maintenance schedules in line with compliance requirements
  • Maintain equipment documentation and ensure adherence to Health & Safety standards
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including automation, digitisation, and monitoring systems
  • Manage spare parts, suppliers, and maintenance contractors
  • Oversee day-to-day building and facilities maintenance, including utilities and environmental services
  • Act as the primary contact for facilities issues, including out-of-hours support when required
What We're Looking For
  • HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Maintenance Engineering
  • 5 years experience as a Maintenance Engineer, or similar within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills, ideally with CNC machinery
  • Hands‑on, proactive approach to maintenance and problem solving
  • Sound knowledge of Health & Safety and statutory compliance requirements
  • Clear communicator, able to work effectively with internal teams and external contractors
