BJ141 - Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Location: Manchester (With occasional travel to sites in Bedford and Bradford)
Salary: GBP40,000 - GBP45,000 Per Annum (+ Car allowance)
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours Per Week

Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer on behalf of our client based in Manchester. This is an excellent and exciting opportunity to join a multi-national company with an excellent opportunity of career advancement.

Our client offers easy-to-use textile services that ensure safe and hygienic solutions for the best possible customer experience. This role is pivotal in ensuring minimal disruption to the laundry s function and keeping operations running.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on a wide range of laundry machinery including washers, Dryers, Boiler systems, Pumps, Valves, Dosing systems.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs on mechanical and electrical systems with minimal disruption to production.
  • Is responsible for carrying out and planning (in co-operation with his/her supervisor) of corrective maintenance, failure monitoring and reporting of any disturbances in machines or processes.
  • Is responsible for maintaining proper condition of the buildings, machines, equipment and outdoor areas of the laundry.
  • Is responsible for the order and cleanliness of the premises and areas dedicated to maintenance work
  • Is responsible for storage of spare parts and maintenance tools as well as for the order and cleanliness of their storage.
  • Is responsible for authorisation of hot work permits.
  • Is responsible for compiling, training and monitoring of operational inspection instructions of machines.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Have a formal mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent standard of professional qualification.
  • Engineer fitter education/experience (desirable/advantage).
  • Automation fitter education/experience (desirable/advantage).
  • Over 3 years work experience in an equivalent position.
  • Proficient in basic IT programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email and Internet).
  • Hot work card or equivalent
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Flexible work ethic as there may be requirements to provide cover at other site
  • Attentive and active in monitoring production activities.
  • Systematic, persistent and methodical.
