Job summary

A dynamic engineering company seeks an experienced Maintenance Engineer with an FMCG background to join their team in Ashford, Kent. This role involves ensuring safe operation through reactive and preventative maintenance of onsite plants, including production lines and refrigeration systems. The successful candidate will have experience in PLC fault finding and hold relevant electrical qualifications. Attractive salary packages available for both night and day shifts.

Qualifications

  • Experience in fault finding on PLCs, Scada, and power circuits.
  • Computer literate, proficient with Excel and Word.
  • Experience in food manufacturing packaging is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct reactive, preventative, and planned maintenance on onsite plants.
  • Maintain packing hall production lines, cooling towers, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Collaborate with the Production Shift Supervisor while working onsite.

Skills

Fault finding experience on PLCs
Experience in food manufacturing packing
Computer literate (Word / Excel)

Education

Approved UK engineering apprenticeship scheme
17 / 18th BS 7671 Electrical wiring regulations

Tools

MEWP / IPAF licences

As an Engineer, this role is responsible for the reactive, preventative and planned repair and maintenance to all onsite plant. All these works must be conducted in a safe manner. This includes areas such as packing hall productions lines, dry & cold stores, site facilities including the cooling tower & production wastewater plant) and refrigeration equipment, ensuring safe efficient operation. Potentially working as the only engineer on a shift with full responsibly for the engineering elements onsite working along the Production Shift Supervisor.

1 x Night Shift £56,708.52 40 hours per week Sunday Thursday 22.00 06.00

2 x Double Days £42,972.8 40 hours per week Week 1 - Monday - Friday 06.00 14.00 Week 2 Monday Friday 14.00 22.00

What do you need?

  • Approved UK engineering apprenticeship scheme
  • 17 / 18th BS 7671 Electrical wiring regulations
  • Fault finding experience on PLCs / Scada / Power & Control circuits / Pneumatics / Mechanical drive conveyor systems.
  • Computer literate (Word / Excel etc.)
  • MEWP / IPAF licences. (current)
  • Experience in food manufacturing packing / weighing and vertical sealers - highly desirable
