Overview

Job Title: Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)

Salary: £51,905 + Overtime + Excellent Benefits (7% Pension, Cycle to Work, Subsidised Gym, Free Parking, Christmas Hamper)

Shifts: 2 Days, 2 Nights, 4 Off – 42 Hours Per Week

The Role

We are seeking an apprentice-trained, multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias to join a large-scale, fast-paced manufacturing environment. Working as part of a highly skilled engineering team, you will play a vital role in maintaining and improving production equipment to ensure maximum efficiency and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across a wide range of production machinery.
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, with core skills in drives, fault finding, and PLC awareness.
  • Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance site performance.
  • Assist with the installation, commissioning, and integration of new equipment and plant upgrades.
  • Work autonomously and within a cross-functional team, sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe, compliant, and high-quality working environment.
What We’re Looking For
  • Apprentice-trained and qualified multi-skilled engineer (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Electrical bias (approx. 70/30 split), though a strong mechanical engineer with solid electrical understanding will be considered.
  • Experience within FMCG, food manufacturing, or other high-volume production environments desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and proactive approach to maintenance and improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
