Role Purpose

To create value by building and implementing innovative category strategies and commercial procurement solutions that deliver a competitively advantaged supply base for Danone across all Logistics expense in the UK. To operate as a collaborative member of the EU Logistics C&P Team in partnership with other team members. Shape and align the Logistics Procurement strategy to support the achievement of business goals including growth, cost reduction, cash generation, Sustainability and deployment of regional and global plans

  • Category Strategy: Develop and implement 1-3 year category strategies with stakeholders, supported by execution roadmaps to deliver this strategy with short, medium and long term initiatives – ensuring alignment with regional and global procurement teams as appropriate
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Regular communication with business stakeholders to ensure alignment to key procurement strategies and develop relationships across the procurement community and with key stakeholders
  • Market Intelligence: For UK Logistics, understanding and responding to market intelligence optimal supplier pricing and value. Deliver supplier strategies which actively anticipate and reduce supplier risk (e.g., sole supplier risk, financial health, data privacy, information security, modern slavery) and secure competitive supply
  • Sourcing and Contracting : Ensure appropriate Supplier tendering, sourcing and contracting strategies are in place across the category to mitigate legal and regulatory exposure. Embed and monitor relevant supplier KPIs in collaboration with Operational colleagues
  • Initiative Management : Deliver Logistics procurement initiatives, applying a variety of strategies and levers including; tendering, e-auctions and cost negotiations, price benchmarking, supplier consolidation and rationalisation
  • Supplier Relationship Management : Perform supplier segmentation and drive supplier engagement with Danone priorities and strategies via regular and robust SRM processes
About you

About you:

  • A strong knowledge and demonstrated experience of procurement roles in Logistics
  • Experience of leading transformational change in procurement and in a matrix environment
  • Autonomous delivery of results: Ability to deliver to agreed savings and value targets
  • Problem solving: Ability to use information, analysis and insights to identify and unlock opportunities across the supply base
  • Programme delivery: Ability to lead a portfolio of strategic and tactical procurement initiatives with competing resources and priorities
  • Prioritisation skills: Ability to independently prioritise work and deliver procurement initiatives in a complex environment
  • Communication and Influencing: Ability to build strong trusting relationships with cross-functional and cross-geographical stakeholders. Use these relationships to support and challenge stakeholders beliefs / positions
  • Role model leadership qualities and behaviours within UKI and EU Procurement Teams
  • Please note the salary on offer for this role is between £70,000 - £82,000 plus bonus & benefits.
