Qualifications

• The applicant must hold FRCA (UK) or equivalent.
• Candidates can be within 6 months of gaining CCT at the date of interview.
• Must be on the GMC's Specialist Register for Anaesthesia to start Consultant appointment.

Responsibilities

• Support the provision of general anaesthesia services for various specialties.
• Participate in the weekend on-call rota (currently approximately 1:8).
• Contribute to the pre‑operative assessment service and acute pain service.

Skills

Teaching medical students

Supervising trainees

Knowledge of teaching to a multidisciplinary team

Evidence of peer review research papers

Up to date knowledge and experience of relevant specialty

Education

Fully registered with GMC

Certification of completion of specialist training (CCT)

Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthesia
