Overview

ASC Practitioner — Devon — Full-time locum — 8 weeks

Dream Medical are working with the Devon Intergrated Services and are looking for an experienced Autistic Spectrum Condition Practitioner to join their friendly team on a Full time basis for 8 weeks.

This is a 9-5 Monday-Friday position that is due to start on the 8th August until 30th September.

The ASC Practitioner will take the lead in assessing, advising on and implementing personalised plans which promote positive behaviour support.

They will support individuals with ASC and their staff teams in the development of strategies and skills to enable further independence and autonomy.

The role will involve working very closely with staff teams in a variety of settings such as within our Supported Living schemes, Residential Homes and Day Services.

Essential Criteria
  • Degree or professional qualification in education, social science, psychology, autism or related areas.
  • Experience of and a deep insight into the needs of people with an ASC.
  • Experience of working in a practitioner role.
  • Ability to produce professional reports.
  • Ability to deliver staff training.
  • A sound understanding of needs' assessments and how to identify an individual's level of skills
  • Ability to build on existing functional skills of individuals and know how to develop these further in relevant and practical ways.
  • Understand how to analyse information, set achievable goals and measure progress.
  • Good organisational skills
  • The ability to coordinate and lead multidisciplinary teams.
  • Appreciation of safeguarding procedures.
  • A full UK driving licence and use of a car or alternative means of transport are required.
