Rate: 14.82 per hour

Hours: Up to 39.5 per week (including walk-around checks)

Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 06:45 start

Additional Saturday work may be available

Based in Rotherham

LGV Driver role to support the safe and efficient collection of waste and recyclables across residential and commercial areas. You will operate a refuse collection vehicle, lead a small crew, and ensure high standards of customer service and safety at all times.

Responsibilities

• Operate a waste collection vehicle safely and efficiently
• Lead, supervise and allocate duties to waste collection crew members
• Carry out daily vehicle walk-around checks and complete defect reports
• Update service information using the Bartec in-cab system
• Report contamination, missed collections, and service issues
• Ensure compliance with all relevant Health & Safety, Drivers Hours, and environmental regulations
• Perform outdoor manual handling tasks in all weather conditions
• Record accidents / near misses and conduct dynamic risk assessments
• Support other service areas (e.g., highways) when required

Key Requirements

• Category C Licence
• Valid CPC
• Experience in waste operations or specialist vehicle handling
• Physically fit for manual work in all weather
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to supervise and support a small crew
• Good understanding of Health & Safety and environmental practices
• Comfortable with basic IT systems (Bartec training provided)
