Position : Leveraged Finance Senior Associate Solicitor

Location : London

PQE : 3+ years

The Opportunity

A leading international law firm is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Leveraged Finance team in London. The team is highly active in the mid-market leveraged finance space and is expanding due to continued client demand.

This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with strong experience in private equity-backed financings, to advise on a range of transactions including senior debt facilities, second lien, unitranche, TLB, first-out / last-out, and super senior facilities. You will act for a mix of credit funds, banks, direct lenders, private equity sponsors, and portfolio companies.

The team is recognised for its market-leading expertise, delivering innovative solutions across complex transactions and maintaining strong relationships with clients in the leveraged finance and private equity space. You can expect high-calibre work on significant transactions, alongside a supportive and collegiate team with excellent partner-level bench strength.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage leveraged and acquisition finance transactions from origination through to documentation and closing.
  • Provide strategic, commercial, and practical advice to clients, understanding their business, sector, and market drivers.
  • Supervise junior lawyers, share knowledge, and contribute to team development.
  • Participate in business development initiatives and promotion of the firm’s services.
  • Opportunities for client secondments and exposure to a variety of financing structures.
Candidate Profile
  • Qualified solicitor with at least 3 years PQE in leveraged finance, preferably with private equity-backed transaction experience
  • Strong understanding of facility agreements, term sheets, commitment papers, and intercreditor arrangements
  • Client-focused with initiative and a proactive approach
  • Strong commercial awareness and demonstrable business development experience
  • Team player with excellent communication skills and ability to mentor junior colleagues
