Client Details

Our client is a large and growing UK independent retailer with over 220 locations nationwide. Having celebrated their 30th birthday and achieved a record-breaking revenue year in 2024, they are looking to continue their growth with a talented, entrepreneurial legal director to join the team.

Description

The Legal Counsel will:

1. Oversee the review, drafting, and negotiation of commercial contracts
2. Support litigation and dispute resolution processes
3. Ensure compliance with GDPR and data protection regulations
4. Advise on intellectual property matters and brand protection
5. Collaborate with senior leadership on legal strategy and risk management

Profile

The Legal Counsel should be:

• A solicitor with around 2+ years' PQE in commercial law and dispute resolution
• Experienced in managing in-house legal functions
• Proficient in GDPR and data protection compliance
• Skilled in negotiating and drafting commercial contracts
• Able to communicate complex legal issues effectively to non-legal stakeholders

Experience from retail or a similar industry is preferred.

This is an on-site role, so you should be local to Manchester.
