Overview

We’re recruiting for an Agriculture specialist to join our team at Brooksby College and become a Lecturer at a leading landbased provider and member of Landex. Due to a high level of student interest across land-based curriculum, we are excited to expand our land based team. We are seeking a passionate Lecturer in Agriculture to pass on their knowledge and experience to the next generation and support in shaping the future of agricultural education. Using your specialist knowledge and experience you will be educating students who will play a vital role in the future of the dynamic industry that is Agriculture, making key links between the ‘why’ and the practical elements.

As an Agriculture Lecturer you will have the ability to deliver across the full range of the department''s provision; in particular crops, machinery and estate skills. You may currently be working in an Agriculture setting looking for your first job in teaching. Most importantly, you will have a passion for innovation, bringing new ideas and embedding new technologies into the learning environment.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver and develop courses as part of the Landbased team, with excellent knowledge and understanding of Agriculture.
  • Plan and use a range of effective and appropriate teaching and learning techniques.
  • Contribute to teaching across the department’s provision, including crops, machinery and estate skills.
  • Engage with industry links and provide practical experience through classroom, demonstration and hands-on activities on the estate.
  • Support students to build a successful career in the Agriculture industry.
About the Environment

With an 850 acre estate, including a mixed-use livestock and arable farm, we provide a foothold in the industry through classroom, demonstration and practical experience.

Brooksby College is investing in teaching facilities, including the new Agriculture Tech Centre, to support development of farming systems and Landbased courses.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Relevant experience and current knowledge in Agriculture.
  • Willingness to obtain a relevant teaching qualification (DTLLS, PGCE or equivalent) if not already possessed.
