Overview

Axcis is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support students at a specialist college in Acton, West London. The role involves assisting learners aged 16–19 with mild SEND needs in a college setting. Students study or explore Agriculture, Horticulture, Dog Grooming, Animal Care, Saddlery, Floristry, Garden Design, Conservation and more. The successful candidate should enjoy working outdoors or with animals. Experience in this field or in a college environment is preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Provide learning support to students during lessons and practical activities.
  • Assist with activities related to the subjects offered at the college and support outdoor or animal-based work where appropriate.
  • Assist with safeguarding, behaviour management and promoting independence and progress for learners.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to plan, deliver and assess learning support.
Requirements
  • Experience as an LSA or in a college environment preferred.
  • Interest in outdoor settings or animal-related subjects.
  • Ability to obtain an up-to-date DBS and to undergo mandatory compliance checks in line with DfE guidelines.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
Salary, hours and start date

Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00–16:30 (1 hour unpaid lunch). Hours can be 3 or 5 days per week. Pay: £13.69 per hour (PAYE). Start date: as soon as possible.

Location

The college is accessible by public transport; nearest stations are Acton Town or South Ealing.
