Job description
Overview

Learning Experience Architect — 6-month contract, part-time (2 or 3 days per week, negotiable), hybrid (occasional travel to London: 1 day per week if based in London, 2 times a month if based outside London). Start date ASAP. Outside IR35 daily rate.

Our client, a brand and social impact agency, is building a new digital product to help adults (16 to 24 years) develop the career and interpersonal skills needed to succeed. From confidence and communication to teamwork and collaboration, they aim to bridge the gap between subject-focused education and the skills-based world of work.

They require an experienced learning experience designer/architect with a proven track record in helping people build these skills and who is excited to bring their expertise into a product being developed from the ground up.

Responsibilities
  • Designing practical learning experiences (exercises, challenges, reflection prompts, peer activities).
  • Creating structured schemes of work and learning journeys/frameworks.
  • Co-designing user flows with the product team to build engaging digital skill-building experiences.
  • Helping identify and prioritise which skills to develop, with an eye on the growing role of AI in the workplace.
  • Presenting multiple pedagogical approaches (e.g. challenge-based, peer-led, coaching-style) with clear trade-offs.
  • Bringing clarity on why certain approaches work and building confidence in learning design decisions.
Qualifications / Skillset
  • 10+ years of experience supporting people in developing interpersonal or career-focused skills.
  • Strong understanding of how adults learn skills, particularly for the workplace. Experience with the group of 16-24 is highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with pedagogical methods such as experiential learning, project-based learning, role-play, coaching, and reflection.
  • A practical, applied approach to learning design (comfortable without rigid curricula or heavy theory).
  • Ability to turn ideas into testable prototypes within a product environment.
