Job description
Overview

Medivet Leominster are looking for a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join their large team in a semi-rural practice in the lovely scenic town of Leominster, Hereford. We can also offer flexibility to work at our Ludlow practice on occasions to integrate with the team, clients and patients there.

You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced Vets and a team of 9 nurses and 8 reception/admin staff.

Role offers a platform to develop your leadership skills, influence clinical direction and deliver excellent patient and client care, all without sacrificing work-life balance. We are offering 40 hours per week over 4 days with 1 in 6 Saturdays and no on call or bank holiday commitments.

Role Accountabilities
  • Provide first class clinical care through consultations, procedures and monitoring
  • Complete clinical handover and arrange transfer of any patient needing out of hours or enhanced care
  • Provide exceptional client care giving clear updates on patients, resolving issues as they arise
  • Observe the highest standards of regulatory, practice and operational compliance
  • Prepare accurate estimates for clients, ensuring payment and minimising debt
  • Maximise capacity through the most effective utilisation of clinical skills
  • Hold engaging clinical meetings with veterinary and nursing teams
  • Support and carry out colleague clinical mentoring / development
  • Pro-actively support and share clinical best practice within and across clinics and the wider Medivet community
  • Support with the growth of our new 24-hour practice
Your Skills and Experience
  • RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon, or with the eligibility to be registered
  • Confident working sole charge
  • A client-oriented approach, with excellent communication skills
  • Experience of working to the highest medical and surgical standards
  • Experience of working with a team to develop a practice
  • Competent in clinical examination and surgery
