A leading automotive software firm is looking for a Lead Site Reliability Engineer to manage their SRE function. You will work closely with engineering teams and stakeholders to enhance system performance and drive processes related to cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Site Reliability Engineering and experience with AWS services, Kubernetes, and Terraform.

Location:

Remote working with 1 day in every 2 weeks at our Stoke-On-Trent office (5 mins from station).

Our site reliability engineers (SREs) empower users with high availability, stellar performance, and rich features.

About the role

This is a hands-on position within the Software Engineering team. You will manage the SRE function daily, working closely with the Head of Engineering and collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop effective solutions and positive user experiences.

The successful candidate will review, lead, and drive our strategic approach to the maturity, security, performance, and scalability of our software and services across cloud infrastructure. You will have significant autonomy to shape the team’s future, leveraging your extensive experience and skills in:

  • Site Reliability Engineering/DevOps/Infrastructure/Platform management
  • Development and deployment of APIs using containerized environments such as Kubernetes
  • Implementing/enhancing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), specifically Terraform
  • Collaborating with stakeholders in an agile environment
  • Leading, coaching, and mentoring team members
  • Working with AWS services, including IAM, S3, EKS, Networking
  • Using CloudFormation/CDK
  • Experience with serverless computing
