Job description

The Post holder will have responsibility for leading, developing and coordinating Public Health Nursing services to deliver quality services in response to changing Health and Social care models of delivery and strategic changes and working in partnership with Head of Service Public Health Nursing, Lead Nurse Colleagues, Named Nurse for Safeguarding children and Family Nurse Supervisor. The post holder will provide clinical & professional management & leadership for public health nursing integrated services to include the development of services for school age population and immunisation programmes. During and following Public Health Nursing services realignments, some duties and areas of responsibilities may change.

Responsibilities
  • Lead public health nursing integrated services.
  • Provide professional leadership for school age population to include immunisation programmes.
  • Lead the implementation of service improvements within PHN areas which will have transformational benefits for example Health for All Children, HCHF 2025.
  • Lead and contribute to the development of Encompass and transition of CHS to encompass.
  • Contribute to learning and development and Nurse Education within services, working with commissioners, education authorities and education providers to ensure professional standards and practice education standards are delivered.
Skills and Qualifications
  • A Registered Nurse on the live NMC Register Part 1 or Part 2 and Part 3.
  • Worked for a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role at Band 7 or above as a part of a Specialist Community Public Health Nursing Team (health visiting or school nursing, safeguarding nursing, FNP or specialist post)
  • Provide evidence of experience in Leading Change Management, Performance Management and Service Developments.
  • Provide evidence of’ experience of clinical and social care governance experience.
  • Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment.
  • This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by the Trust which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post.
