Job description

An opportunity exists for the Landscape Foreperson within the Environmental Services Unit who will be responsible to carry out horticulture skills and to supervise staff necessary in the maintenance and construction of landscaped areas within the grounds of the University campus to ensure the delivery of a high quality service This is on a permanent 35 hour a week basis Monday Friday 08.00 15.30 reporting to the Environmental Services Deputy Manager. A current full U.K. driving licence required and able to drive a variety of vehicles and machinery to undertake maintenance and supervision of the landscaped grounds. High level of knowledge and experience in horticultural is required to provide guidance to staff and in assisting Unit manager. You will possess excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills and have a "can do" attitude. Experience at supervising groups of multi-disciplinary craft and manual staff and in documenting and recording work sheets and ensuring information is appropriate to the tasks of the Environmental Services Unit Must have working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and requirements in ensuring safe systems of work adhered to. Due to the nature of the funding, KTP Associates who have already completed a KTP are not eligible to apply. As this role involves research at a postgraduate level, applicants who are not an EEA national or a national of an exempt country and who will require sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route of the UK Visas and Immigration's (UKVI) Points Based System in order to take up the role, will be required to apply for an Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) Certificate and will need to obtain this prior to making any official visa application UKVI).
