A global investment bank in Belfast is seeking an IT Quality Senior Manager. In this role, you will manage the Quality Engineering cycle and lead a talented team, ensuring the delivery of effective testing strategies. The IT Quality Senior Manager accomplishes results through the management of professional teams and departments. It integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area, contributes to standards, and understands how areas integrate within the sub-function, coordinating with the entire function. Requires basic commercial awareness.
Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required to guide, influence and convince others, including colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. This role has responsibility for the volume, quality, timeliness and delivery of end results of an area and may include planning, budgeting and policy formulation. It involves short-term planning and resource planning, and full management responsibility of a team, including performance evaluation and other related duties.
Performs initiatives related to full Quality Engineering cycle, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process and product rollout into production. Testing specialists work with technology project managers, UAT professionals and users to design and implement appropriate scripts/plans for an application testing strategy/approach. Responsibilities may also include software quality assurance testing.
Resolves complex and highly variable issues.
Analyzes trends at an organizational level to improve processes; follows and analyzes industry trends.
Develops and designs standards and procedures; ensures adherence throughout the software development life cycle.
Manages organizational process change.
Develops and implements methods for cost, effort and milestones of IT Quality activities. Strives for continuous improvements and streamlining of processes.
Ensures consistency and quality of processes across the organization. Exhibits in-depth understanding of concepts within own area and basic knowledge in other areas.
Requires in-depth understanding of how own area integrates within IT Quality and has basic commercial awareness.
Evaluates subordinates' performance and makes decisions on pay increases, promotions, terminations, etc.
Uses evaluative judgment in complicated or novel situations; uses multiple sources of information.
Impacts IT Quality through delivery of end results and contribution to planning, finances/budget and policy formulation.
Responsible for budgeting, project estimates, task management and balancing prioritization across multiple streams of development.
Responsible for people management, mentoring and career development processes for the Shanghai team, including delivering performance reviews, training and recruiting.
Collaborates with local and global stakeholders (QA team, production support team, environment management team, DBA team, etc.) to ensure project stability and productivity.
Responsible for day-to-day staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project.
Performs other duties and functions as assigned.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with laws and regulations, adhering to policy, and escalating and reporting control issues with transparency.
Relevant IT testing experience required
Excellent knowledge of software testing techniques and testing tools
Knowledge of any well-known software development and testing life-cycle methodology
Requires communication and diplomacy skills and an ability to persuade and influence
KYC domain knowledge
Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
