Key Stage 3 Teacher
TLTP are recruiting for a Special Needs Key Stage 3 Teacher with extensive experience in teaching a range of subjects to KS3 & low level learners. This school is based in North West London. ASAP start. This is a secondary school which caters for children with SEBD, ASD and SEMH. If you have some SEN experience then please do apply. Special needs Teachers will need to have secondary or Primary Experience.
Responsibilities
- Deliver a range of subjects to KS3 learners, including cover lessons when necessary.
- Be responsible for the progress of all pupils in your specialism and KS3 subjects.
- Coordinate the work of a team of Therapeutic Education Practitioners (Learning Mentors) and provide required direct teaching time to meet the needs of the class groups and pupils.
- Take a holistic view of pupils, drawing on social care and teaching strategies to meet pupil needs while promoting safety and well-being.
- Support class teachers with the delivery of subjects up to GCSE level.
- Provide opportunities for pupils to experience/understand English subjects in a range of contexts.
- Differentiating the National Curriculum to meet the needs of ASC/SEMH pupils and devising Individual Education Behaviour and Integration Plans (IEBIP) with SMART targets and actions.
- Identify pupils in need of specific intervention in consultation with SLT, PCC, Clinical team and Therapeutic Education Practitioners, and support one-to-one and small group programmes.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or qualified teacher status for life (QTLS).
- Special needs experience with KS3 SEMH/SEN, including ASC/SEBD/ASD.
- Ability to deliver outstanding teaching and learning alongside a multi-disciplinary classroom team.
- Experience leading in your subject area with clear ideas to achieve exceptional progress for students.
- Ability to ensure pupils fulfil their potential and maintain ambitious expectations.
- Calm demeanour and the ability to maintain a sense of humour under pressure.
- Understanding of and commitment to safeguarding children.
