JOB SUMMARY:

The Key Account Manager (KAM) will compliantly market BioCryst products to our customers, acting as the company’s representative to healthcare professionals and other stakeholders in selected accounts. #LI-Remote

Responsibilities
  • The KAM is responsible for delivering sales targets for promoted products within their assigned territory/region.
  • Identify, develop & manage accounts/customers with the highest standards of compliance with governance, professional and ethical behavior, safety standards, national legal requirements and regulations.
  • Regular use of a CRM and other analytical systems for communication and documentation, market analysis, trends, dynamics, competitors, new entries, and deriving actions from it.
  • Develop exceptional business plans with analysis of individual accounts and design of tactics for each, including resource allocations linked to strong business results.
  • Develop local customer launch and communication plans and use innovative concepts to drive adoption of our products.
  • Be customer-focused and able to build and foster strong relationships with key decision makers and opinion leaders.
  • Initiate, organize and implement promotional and educational events in the assigned territory that adhere to relevant promotional and regulatory guidelines.
  • Participate in local and national congresses and events as required.
  • Complete expense reports and other required administrative reports accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Report all call information promptly.
  • Attend training programs, conventions, and symposia as requested.
  • Focus on end results of the sales process, demonstrating accountability, urgency, and commitment to achieving business objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactively use resources and share best practices to achieve or exceed business goals.
  • Adhere to all company compliance guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical and/or biotech selling experience.
  • Rare Disease and small company experience preferred.
  • Start-up commercial experience a plus.
  • Existing relationships with key accounts within assigned geography are helpful.
  • Strong track record of exceeding sales goals, including national awards such as President’s Club.
  • Demonstrated success selling in a territory where the candidate was the sole commercial salesperson.
  • Proven ability to formulate and implement effective rare disease sales strategies and results.
  • Knowledge of relevant disease states and current treatments.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong business and analytical ability.
  • Proven ability to create and innovate, build and expand business, and work independently as well as in teams.
  • Ability to quickly assimilate complex information.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of reimbursement.
  • Knowledge of territory.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel as necessary, including overnight and/or weekend travel.
