Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience working in a kitchen.
  • Ability to work well in a team as well as independently.

Responsibilities

  • Measuring meal ingredients accurately for the Station Chef.
  • Plating and presenting food items as per the Station Chef’s instruction.
  • Receiving deliveries and ensuring quality and timeliness.
  • Preparing basic sauces and salads as directed.
  • Performing basic cleaning duties and sanitising stations.
  • Taking inventory and informing the Supervisor of low supplies.
  • Disposing of spoiled or expired food items.
  • Preparing meal ingredients like seasoning meats and cleaning fruits and vegetables.

A renowned restaurant multi‑brand operator, operating more than 40 restaurants within the group is launching its one of a kind majestic world cuisine buffet which includes: fine/private dining, a banqueting hall, ballroom, and conference facilities in the midlands. They are looking for an experienced Junior Chef to join their team near the centre of Birmingham.

  • Minimum 2 years experience working in a kitchen.
Junior Chef Responsibilities:
  • Measuring meal ingredients accurately for the Station Chef
  • Plating and presenting food items as per the Station Chef’s instruction
  • Receiving deliveries and making sure that all ordered items are of excellent quality and are delivered on time
  • Preparing basic sauces and salads as directed by the Station Chef
  • Performing basic cleaning duties and sanitising all work stations properly
  • Taking inventory of supplies and informing the restaurant’s Supervisor of depleted or low supplies
  • Disposing of all spoiled or expired food items stored in the freezers, refrigerators and stock rooms
  • Preparing meal ingredients, including seasoning of different meats, as well as chopping, peeling and washing, fruits and vegetables
Junior Chef Requirements:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as listening skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to deliver high‑quality work
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
