IT Analyst
From £40,000 (depending on experience)

The selected candidate will become part of the Caterpillar IT team (Energy & Transportation Segment) located in Peterborough. This position involves supporting the Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) by serving as the intermediary between IT and diverse global business units, facilitating the creation of requirements, development, testing and utilisation of information systems across Sales, Marketing, Service, and the Aftermarket team.
The primary emphasis will be on gaining an in-depth understanding of the departments and their role in supporting Caterpillar's strategy aligned with available technology solutions.
The successful applicant will join a global team supporting comprehensive business operations, offering opportunities for professional growth and exposure to various business functions. Additionally, there will be experience gained with numerous application technologies and IT architectures, with a primary focus on Salesforce.
This is an excellent chance for a skilled business analyst with strong tech knowledge to enhance their capabilities by shaping and maintaining an IT portfolio for a major international organisation.
Core Application Systems: Knowledge of major production application systems used for delivery of services to internal and external clients; ability to leverage major production application systems in diverse situations.
Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognising, anticipating, and resolving organisational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Application Design, Architecture: Knowledge of basic activities and deliverables of application design; ability to utilise application design methodologies, tools and techniques to convert business requirements and logical models into a technical application design.
Implementation: Knowledge of how to run applications for organisations; ability to implement application software within an organisation and help end‑users perform specific tasks (ex: accounting or graphic design).
Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyse and record required business functionality and non‑functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
System and Technology Integration: Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases and technology platforms.
System Testing: Knowledge of system and software testing; ability to design, plan and execute system testing strategies and tactics to ensure the quality of software at all stages of the system life cycle.
