Overview

James Stevens Associates are delighted to be working with a small and vastly commercial Social Housing provider in Hertfordshire.

Interim Disrepair Solicitor

Contract details: 2- to 3-month contract; daily rate negotiable for the right level of experience; 4 or 5 days per week; outside IR35 (Limited Company or Umbrella Company available); 2 days per week in office, 3 days from home.

Location: Hertfordshire & Hybrid | Interim / Contract

Role

The Housing organisation has recently launched a central legal actions register and requires dedicated support to bring structure, clarity and progress to this critical area.

Solicitor or Paralegal (3 month fixed-term contract | Outside IR35)

You will play a pivotal role in helping us get on top of our current backlog (50 legal actions, including 40 disrepair claims) and set the foundation for robust case management going forward.

  • Updating and maintaining the legal actions register
  • Reviewing existing casework to assess progress and next steps
  • Liaising with officers and external solicitors
  • Designing and embedding an ongoing case management system

  • Strong organisational and case management skills
  • Ability to hit the ground running in a fast-paced, project-based role
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate between internal teams and external legal advisors
