Job summary

A local educational authority in Glasgow is looking for an Instrumental Instructor for woodwind instruments to inspire and teach children of all ages. Can you make a difference to the future lives of Glasgow's young people? Glasgow City Council is seeking to appoint an Instrumental Instructor of woodwind, to work in various establishments throughout the city. You must be a passionate and well qualified musician with a true commitment to teaching who will inspire the musical development of our children and young people. Teaching duties: To teach woodwind instruments to pupils of all ages, from beginner to Grade 8 standard and to prepare courses and SQA performance programmes as required. In addition to the range of teaching and other duties outlined in the job specification we are looking for individuals who enjoy working collegiately, and who have a firm commitment to improving the outcomes for Glasgow's young people. Candidates who are offered an interview should attend 30 Minutes before allocated interview time, and be prepared to perform 1 piece of their choice on their first instrument, followed by formal interview.

Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be essential on taking up appointment along a Music Degree (with Woodwind specialism). Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.

This post is fixed for a period up to 12 months.
