A multinational banking and financial services company in the UK is seeking an Infrastructure Network Management Engineer to manage and develop the NetBrain product, enhancing network management through automation and best engineering practices. The successful candidate will have experience in large enterprises, knowledge of scripting languages, and a collaborative approach to communication. This role includes operational support and the design of self-service infrastructure solutions.
Join us as an Infrastructure Network Management Engineer
As an Infrastructure Network Management Engineer, you’ll contribute to and manage the selection, creation, and maintenance of technologies required to meet the needs of our customers, strategic targets, and architecture outcomes. You’ll be responsible for developing products using modern engineering practices and tools. You’ll also be responsible for the day-to-day support and maintenance of network management tool, NetBrain, used through networks for troubleshooting, documentation, configuration, and operating system compliance as well as for mass configuration updates in support of projects and operational enhancements.
Collaborating with Product Owners, you’ll develop product roadmaps and manage the lifecycle of the team\'s products and support engineered products, responding to colleague feedback and new feature requests, resolving production issues, and helping colleagues consume our products. You’ll use DevOps practices to manage and develop code using Git based workflows and CI/CD pipelines. You’ll also use network management tools to automate the deployment and reporting of controls and mandatory security requirements to comply with best practice and bank policies.
Additionally, you’ll:
To thrive in this role, you\’ll have experience of the NetBrain product in a large enterprise network managing 5,000+ nodes, as well an understanding, and exposure to software development or automation scripting such as Python or Shell. You\’ll have an understanding of the software development lifecycle and experience in utilising modern infrastructure as code via tooling.
We\’ll expect you to bring a good understanding of Agile working practices and toolsets with the ability to create the vision for the Release Train, feature team, platform, and domain. You\’ll also have experience of working with networking and security technologies deployed to an on-premises datacentre and offices with a good understanding of protocols such as TCP/IP, SNMP, DNS, and HTTP. Public cloud vendor knowledge covering GCP, AWS, and Azure would be beneficial
Furthermore, you’ll need:
