We apply F1-derived innovation and expertise to deliver high-performance projects outside of Formula One. With a programme portfolio that spans automotive and non-automotive sectors, AMPT\'s mission is to bring the skills, precision, and innovation of Formula One to wider industries.

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting and developing the IT systems and core infrastructure that underpin this high-performance environment. Working alongside a talented technical team, you will ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our IT estate while enabling colleagues to deliver at the highest level.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver 1st and 2nd line IT support, resolving hardware, software, and service-related issues across the business.
  • Administer and maintain desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and user accounts.
  • Manage and troubleshoot servers (Windows/Linux), VDI environments, storage platforms, and VMware virtual environments.
  • Monitor and maintain system health, availability, and performance, owning incidents through to resolution.
  • Support and maintain Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, certificate services, and group policies.
  • Ensure robust backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Participate in planned upgrades, improvements, and maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and use ITSM tools (e.g., JIRA, ServiceNow, IFS Assyst).
  • Contribute to ITIL-aligned processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Request).
  • Assist with network and security administration, including firewall management, segmentation, and endpoint protection.
  • Collaborate with teams across AMPT to ensure technology supports operational efficiency in both office and trackside environments.
  • Carry out additional duties as reasonably requested in line with the role.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience supporting and administering IT infrastructure and end-user systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft and Linux operating systems, Office Suite, and device management.
  • Strong hands-on experience with VMware, server administration, and enterprise storage technologies (e.g., NetApp, StorageGRID).
  • Understanding of enterprise networking, security protocols (802.1x, NGFW), and IAM principles.
  • Skilled in ITSM platforms and remote support tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with a proactive approach to recurring issues.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure automation, scripting, or containerisation (e.g., Kubernetes) desirable.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal hours for critical maintenance or network emergencies.
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and results-driven with strong decision-making skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across teams.
  • Calm under pressure, adaptable, and committed to delivering to challenging deadlines.
  • Clear commitment to Health & Safety standards.
