Salary: £115k circa (London) / £100k circa (National)

This is a great job for someone who… is a strategic and commercially minded data professional who enjoys shaping enterprise‑wide data direction and turning complex information concepts into clear business outcomes. You’ll be comfortable working across senior stakeholders and technical teams, bringing clarity to ambiguity and driving improvements across a complex data landscape. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys influencing, building strong data foundations, and championing data‑led decision‑making at scale.

A bit about the job

As an Information Architect at Aviva, you’ll help shape how information is structured, governed, and used across the organisation. You’ll set standards, align data architecture across domains, and support business‑driven data solutions. Working closely with business owners, CIO stakeholders, and architecture teams, you’ll identify improvement opportunities, reduce data risk, and strengthen Aviva’s information ecosystem. This role also supports key initiatives such as data products, data quality, and strategic data roadmaps.

Skills and experience we’re looking for
  • Enterprise Data Architecture & Architecture Patterns – Designing and implementing enterprise‑wide data solutions aligned to Aviva’s strategic goals, using industry standards and proven architectural frameworks.
  • Master & Reference Data Management – Developing strategies to manage core data sets, ensuring consistency, re‑usability, and a common business language across Aviva.
  • Metadata, Data Quality, Ontologies & Governance – Designing metadata and defining governance controls for data retention, access, quality, and lineage—critical for compliance and operational excellence.
  • Data Integration & Information Flows – Creating integration strategies and mapping end‑to‑end information flows to ensure data moves seamlessly and meaningfully across Aviva’s platforms and domains.
  • Data Modelling (Conceptual, Logical, Physical) – Producing high‑quality data models and designs to support analytical and operational use cases, forming the backbone of Aviva’s data products and platforms.

  • Bonus opportunity – 12% of annual salary. Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
  • Generous pension scheme – Aviva will contribute up to 14%, depending on what you put in.
  • 29 days holiday plus bank holidays, and you can buy or sell up to 5 days
  • Aviva‑funded Private Medical Benefit to help you get expert support when you need it
  • Make your money go further – Up to 40% discount on Aviva products, and other retailer discounts
