A local education authority in the United Kingdom is looking for a Chair for their new Education Partnership Board. This role involves leading a cohesive educational vision, establishing objectives, and uniting partners to improve the local education landscape. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in education and strategic leadership, with capabilities in inspiring collaboration among diverse teams.
We are a vibrant conurbation nestled on south coast bounded by the Purbecks and the new forest. We have a thriving education system of 98 schools, a college and three universities serving an increasingly diverse population of x000 children and young people who deserve our best. In the context of the southwest region, BCP is a high performing authority as measured by KS2 SATs and Progress 8 outcomes. However, the BCP education landscape is one with many partners, with their own governance, ethos and priorities. This can lead to a feeling of a system that is 'fractured' rather than 'cohesive'.
We are looking for a chair of our soon to be established education partnership board.
The Board will be a 'Self-Improving Education Board', a board where the system partners collaboratively own, set and drive the 'big picture' education agenda and work as one cohesive system leadership for the local area.
The board will lead the local education system taking the decisions that can only be taken at the system-leadership level.
The main goal of the role is to unite partners around this purpose, establish objectives aligned with this purpose, and implement strong governance for the identified priorities.
We also expect the chair to bring fresh ideas and an external perspective to our work, ensuring the right balance of support and challenge to the board.
A passionate individual with a broad knowledge and understanding of the education sector and current issues affecting it.
You must have experience of operating at a senior strategic leadership level within an organisation, coupled with a track record of making a significant systems leadership impact.
You will have the ability to inspire, convene and unite leaders from across the system to deliver the best for all our children and young people.
We are looking for someone who excels at collaborative working, can build and unite a diverse team with tact, diplomacy and where necessary, assertiveness.
The role will be paid on a consultancy basis. The daily rate will be competitive. You will have the opportunity to shape the BCP education landscape.
