A governmental authority in the UK is seeking an HR Consultant to join their People Policy Governance team in Norwich. This role involves leading the development and implementation of HR policies and projects, managing a small team, and providing expert advice. The ideal candidate will have a professional HR qualification and strong communication skills, with experience in policy development and project management. HR Consultant - People Policy Governance | 8854 | Fixed Term Contract for 2 years | 37 hours per week | £43,822 to £48,227 per annum | Scale K | Norwich
We are looking for a Human Resources (HR) Consultant to join the People Policy Governance team to lead on the development and implementation of HR policy, activity and projects in support of the People Management Strategy and legislative requirements. This is one of two HR Consultant vacancies in the People Policy Governance team, which are being advertised separately. The other role will have a greater focus on reward and recognition.
You will work across all areas of the team which includes developing and implementing policies and plans, reward and recognition, auditing, freedom of information and subject access, and providing specialist professional advice and guidance as subject matter experts.
You will develop, manage and implement project plans in accordance with NCC governance and best practice standards while proactively identifying improvements/recommendations.
You will report to the HR Manager – People Policy Governance and will have a small team of HR Advisors and/or Officers.
We are looking for a professionally qualified individual (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development level 5 or above) or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
You will need excellent communication skills, experience of policy development, project management, reward and recognition, and up to date employment law knowledge.
You will also need a good understanding of the complexities and implications of different employment terms and conditions. The ability to work closely with HR colleagues and other key stakeholders is key, including the ability to lead discussions and consultations with relevant Trade Unions.
