  • Salary up to £90,000
  • City of London
  • Hybrid working – 3 days in the office

Oakleaf Partnership are partnering with a highly respected, people-focused Law Firm. They are looking for an experienced HR Business Partner on a 12-month contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strategic yet hands‑on HRBP who thrives in a progressive, collaborative environment and enjoys working across both strategic and operational priorities.

What is the role?

This role will act as a trusted advisor to a defined client group, delivering the full spectrum of generalist HR support while partnering closely with senior stakeholders. You will play a central role in shaping and executing the people agenda, working across all aspects of the employee lifecycle and collaborating with specialist HR functions.

You will contribute to resource planning, talent development, performance management and organisational capability. As an HRBP who is comfortable rolling up your sleeves, you will support BAU activity while also driving key cyclical processes such as reward, talent reviews and people planning. You will coach leaders, guide decision‑making using meaningful people data, and ensure a consistent and high‑quality approach to employee experience across your groups.

This role also takes a proactive approach to wellbeing, employee relations, and shaping the evolving hybrid working environment. You’ll partner closely with internal HR specialists, support managers with sensitive people matters, and ensure that employees feel supported throughout their journey with the business.

Skills/Experience required
  • Extensive HRBP experience within legal, professional services or financial services.
  • A proven track record of delivering across the full generalist remit, balancing strategic partnering with hands‑on BAU.
  • Strong experience running annual reward, talent and performance processes alongside senior leaders.
  • Highly skilled in employee relations, with the ability to resolve issues through both informal and formal approaches.
  • Confident in using people data to generate insight, influence stakeholders and support business decision‑making.
  • A credible, warm and commercially minded partner, able to communicate clearly and build trust quickly.
  • Strong organisational skills, emotional intelligence, resilience and the ability to navigate a fast‑moving environment.
  • A self‑starter who takes ownership, collaborates effectively, and champions a positive, people‑centric culture.

This is a brilliant opportunity for an HRBP who enjoys variety, values collaboration and wants to make a meaningful impact during a key period of organisational activity.
