Job summary

A fast-paced commercial business in East Yorkshire is seeking an experienced HR Advisor for a part-time role. You'll be supporting a variety of HR functions while collaborating closely with the HR team. Key responsibilities include providing HR guidance, maintaining employee records, and assisting in the recruitment process. Ideal candidates will have experience as an HR Advisor, strong knowledge of UK employment law, and excellent communication skills. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated HR professional.

Qualifications

  • CIPD level 5 qualification is ideal or in progress.
  • Proven experience in a commercial HR Advisor role.

Responsibilities

  • Provide HR advice and guidance to stakeholders.

Salary: £3(Apply online only) - £34000 pro rata

Hours: Part time

Location: East Yorkshire

At Another, they are currently looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join a fast‑paced commercial business on a part‑time basis. Based in East Yorkshire and reporting to the HR Business Partner, you will be responsible for supporting a broad range of HR generalist activities whilst driving the HR agenda alongside the wider HR team. This is an exciting role, working within a fast‑paced environment.

The Role
  • Provide advice and guidance to managers and employees across all regions on all HR policies, practices and procedures.
  • Ensure employee absenteeism is monitored and reported monthly, and any issues are dealt with at the earliest opportunity.
  • Maintain the employee records via the HRIS system.
  • Resolve queries, escalate as necessary and log if appropriate.
  • Identify and suggest areas of improvement.
  • Support the life cycle of administration for new starters and leavers.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records; pension, sickness absence, holiday, recruitment etc.
  • Support the recruitment process as required.
  • Work with managers and stakeholders to provide advice and support with all people‑related issues, including disciplinary, absence, grievance and redundancy meetings.
  • Support the HR Director and the wider HR team in the delivery of the people plan and in working on HR projects, such as restructuring, systems, reward & benefits, health and wellbeing.
  • Provide a high‑quality service and act as a trusted HR Advisor whilst building credible stakeholder relationships.
  • Provide HR administrative support – drafting offer letters/contracts of employment, administering new starters and leavers processes as required.
  • Liaise with payroll as and when required and ensure employee records are kept accurate and up‑to‑date.
Skills required
  • Ideally CIPD level 5 qualified or working towards.
  • Proven experience of working as an HR Advisor, ideally gained in a commercial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law.
  • Strong experience of building relationships and managing stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate and engage with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to use own initiative and good problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong IT skills – MS Office, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Accurate and timely delivery of tasks coupled with excellent organisational skills.
