Overview

GXO is looking for a proactive and people-focused HR Advisor to join our Nestlé contract at our flagship site at East Midlands Gateway. You’ll be at the heart of our people strategy, supporting the HR Manager and site leadership to drive engagement, development, and operational excellence across a fast-paced, 24/7 operation.

This is a 12-month fixed term contract/internal secondment, offering a fantastic opportunity to join the HR team and make a real impact in a cutting-edge, automated logistics environment. The hours of work are 37.5, Monday to Friday.

Pay, benefits and more

You’ll be paid a salary of £34,000 - £36,000 per annum, dependent upon experience. You’ll also receive 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), with the option to buy additional days to support a positive work-life balance. What you’ll do on a typical day
  • Provide high-quality HR support and guidance to managers and employees across the site, including employee relations, absence management, and performance-related matters, ensuring consistency and compliance with policies and employment law.
  • Deliver a proactive and efficient people service, supporting recruitment, onboarding, and the implementation of people processes and ways of working.
  • Support the delivery of the site’s talent and development agenda, including appraisals, succession planning, and training initiatives, while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and engagement.
  • Monitor and report on key HR metrics such as headcount, turnover, and absence, using data to inform decision-making and drive improvements across the operation.
What you need to succeed at GXO
  • Experience in a similar HR Advisor level role, with experience of advising line managers on employee relations issues.
  • Good knowledge of employment law, HR policy, practice, employee relations and change management approaches.
  • CIPD qualified/part qualified or studying towards would be beneficial.
  • Excellent communicator, able to lead by example and build long-term relationships.
