Haeata Community Campus is an urban area school based in the east of Christchurch. We have an exciting opportunity for a food technology & hospitality specialist to join our Y9–13 team. Our hospitality program is a core part of our senior school and the successful candidate will need to be able to teach Hospitality through to NCEA Level 3.

We are looking for a Kaiako who is culturally aware and will enjoy working within a modern learning environment with a focus on ākonga centred learning.

The position will be tailored to fit the experience level of the preferred applicant. Non-trained teachers are welcome to apply and full support will be given to process a Limited Authority to Teach (LAT).

The successful candidate will have:

  • A degree qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability and confidence teaching Y9–13.
  • Ability to teach to NCEA Level 3 hospitality
  • Experience with planning and delivering integrated learning programmes for Y9–10.
  • A commitment to providing extra curricular opportunities for ākonga.
  • Sound organisational skills and details-oriented approach.
  • Sound communication skills to support ākonga, whānau and Kaimahi.
