Job summary

A healthcare facilities service provider is seeking a Building Technician to manage maintenance and repairs at the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford. The role involves ensuring compliance with safety standards and requires a recognized qualification in a building fabric discipline. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time position offering £14.93 per hour, with additional responsibilities including shift participation.

Qualifications

• Hold a qualification in a building fabric discipline such as Carpentry or Joinery.
• Completion of a structured training programme within a building trade for a minimum of three years.
• Possess a full, valid driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver all aspects of building and fabric maintenance.
• Execute a broad range of site maintenance activities.
• Maintain and repair fire doors and safety systems.
• Provide support to the Building Team Leader as needed.

Skills

Advanced understanding of building fabric systems

Strong written and verbal communication

Ability to identify hazards and work safely

Knowledge of critical safety topics

Adaptability and proactive attitude

Education
