Registered Manager – Children's Residential Home

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Manager on behalf of our client for a Children’s Home, supporting children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

About the Role

You’ll provide more than just care—you’ll offer connection, stability, and a safe environment for children who have experienced significant trauma and abuse. Every small act—sharing meals, listening, celebrating milestones—can have a life-changing impact.

  • Salary: £54,000 (dependent on experience)
  • Shift Pattern: 9am–5pm (may vary for on-call)

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage day-to-day operations of Children’s Home
  • Ensure the highest standards of care and compliance with OFSTED regulations
  • Shape and develop your home using therapeutic approaches such as PACE
  • Recruit, supervise, and develop staff to maintain a skilled, motivated team
  • Uphold safeguarding standards and oversee all policies and procedures
  • Prepare for and lead OFSTED inspections, ensuring homes meet or exceed expectations
  • Participate in on-call duties and respond flexibly to the needs of the home

About You

  • Proven track record of achieving Good or Outstanding OFSTED ratings
  • Experience in fit person interviews and holding OFSTED registration
  • Strong knowledge of the Children’s Act, OFSTED regulations, safeguarding, compliance, Reg 44 processes, and therapeutic practices
  • Firm but fair leadership style, committed to delivering high-quality care
  • Open-minded, caring, and resilient
  • Flexible with a willingness to take on-call responsibilities
  • Passionate about staff development and nurturing environments for young people

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in residential childcare
  • At least 2 years in a supervisory or management role
  • NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England), or working towards it
