A local government authority in the East Midlands is seeking a highly motivated Highway Inspector to join their Highway Inspection team. The role involves managing and mentoring a team of inspectors while ensuring compliance with safety standards and legislation. The ideal candidate will have a background in highway management or inspection and knowledge of safety inspection systems. This position offers a competitive salary and the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment.

Salary:Starting Salary is £46,142 (Level one), rising to £49,282 per annum

Our Highway Inspection team ensures that we comply with our duty to maintain the highway through inspection and defect identification in accordance with the Highways Act 1980. By complying with our duty, we ensure that the highway is safe for highway users.
You will be working closely with the Head of Highway Maintenance, Maintenance Engineers and other teams across the authority to ensure we deliver a high performing service for stakeholders in accordance with Nottingham City Councils policies and procedures and to comply with our duties under the Highways Act.
You will be able to deal with a range of issues and conflicting demands whilst adhering to relevant legislation and delivering to tight deadlines and keeping calm under pressure.
You should possess excellent inter-personal and customer service skills, be a highly motivated, self-starter with a drive to succeed, demonstrating a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
