Overview

Copleston High School is an 11-18 mixed comprehensive that is committed to a caring and disciplined atmosphere. We are seeking to appoint a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant to support students with additional learning needs and to work in two specialist units on site. You will lead the work within the CIU (Communication and Interaction Unit), a specialist onsite unit supporting students with a SEND diagnosis in their attendance to school.

  • Location: Copleston High School, Copleston Road, Ipswich, Suffolk IP4 5HD
  • Salary: £23,339.78 per annum
  • Hours: 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
  • Contract: Permanent, required as soon as possible
  • Reference: 7816
Responsibilities

The role involves supporting individual students and groups of students within the CIU and other units as required. You will be responsible for delivering maths and numeracy interventions, and for maintaining high standards to meet the needs of the school and the wider community.

Qualifications & Experience

GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent) in both Mathematics and English is essential due to the role including Maths and Numeracy intervention. The successful candidate will be passionate, patient, highly organised and able to work effectively in a supportive, professional environment.
