Job summary

A well-established Truck & Trailer maintenance business is seeking an experienced HGV Technician for a full-time permanent role in Stockport. The position involves rotating shifts from 6am to 6pm and 6pm to 6am. Key responsibilities include conducting vehicle inspections, performing repairs, servicing, diagnostics, and maintaining paperwork. Ideal candidates will have recognized qualifications and experience in Truck & Trailer maintenance, with knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems being advantageous. Competitive salary is provided.

Qualifications

  • Hold full industry qualifications and have served a recognised apprenticeship.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of Truck & Trailer Maintenance.
  • Knowledge of Hydraulic and Electrical systems, maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out thorough vehicle inspections in line with the 'O' licence requirements.
  • Carry out repairs highlighted on the initial inspection.
  • General servicing and MOT preparation.
  • Fault finding and diagnostics.
  • Updating all required paperwork and databases.

Depot Location: Stockport

Working Hours

6am to 6pm & 6pm to 6am

Shift Pattern

4 on, 4 off (rotating days & nights)

Contract

Full time / Permanent role

Financial Package

£48,000 to £50,000 plus OT

My client, a well-established Truck & Trailer maintenance business is actively seeking to employ an HGV Technician on a day & night rotating shift.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out thorough vehicle inspections in line with the 'O' licence requirements
  • Carry out any repairs required that have been highlighted on the initial inspection
  • General Servicing and MOT preparation
  • Fault finding & diagnostics
  • Updating all required paperwork / databases
Attributes
  • Hold full industry qualifications and have served a recognised apprenticeship.
  • Have detailed knowledge and understanding of Truck & Trailer Maintenance.
  • A commercial licence would be a distinct advantage for isn't essential.
  • Knowledge of Hydraulic and Electrical systems, maintenance and repair.
